Job Description

Job description:

Overview

Vantage Logistics is looking for competitive, coachable, and driven people who want to build a long-term career in logistics, sales, and account management. This is a structured development role designed to teach you the freight brokerage business from the ground up before moving into customer management and sales responsibility.

You will begin by learning the operational side of the business: carrier communication, shipment tracking, load coverage, appointment scheduling, documentation, and problem-solving. As you develop, you will receive coaching toward account management, customer communication, pricing, relationship growth, and sales.

Technology and Training

You will be trained on the systems and tools used in modern freight brokerage, including McLeod TMS, customer and carrier communication tools, freight market resources, and internal AI-assisted workflows. These tools are used to support research, documentation, customer follow-up, reporting, and decision-making while you learn the fundamentals of the business.

What You Will Do

  • Learn how freight moves from pickup through delivery.

  • Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal teams by phone and email.

  • Track shipments and provide real-time updates.

  • Use McLeod and internal systems to update load information accurately.

  • Support Account Managers with scheduling, negotiations, issue resolution, documents, and customer requirements.

  • Build relationships with carrier partners.

  • Learn freight pricing, market trends, customer communication, and sales fundamentals.

  • Prepare to transition into an Account Manager role based on performance and readiness.

Who Does Well Here

  • Competitive and motivated people who want to grow.

  • People who are comfortable communicating by phone and email.

  • Coachable candidates who respond well to feedback.

  • People who can stay organized while handling multiple priorities.

  • Problem solvers who can handle pressure without shutting down.

  • Candidates who want a career path, not just a job.

  • People who are curious about technology, AI, process improvement, and how modern freight brokerage is changing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred but not required.

  • Customer service, sales, hospitality, athletics, retail, leadership, or internship experience preferred.

  • No freight brokerage experience required.

  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through required.

  • Must be comfortable working full-time, 100% on-site.

  • Must be able to commute to the assigned office location.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive base salary with bonus opportunities. Compensation is based on approved company range, location, experience, and overall fit. Strong performers may be eligible for accelerated responsibility and compensation review.

  • Competitive base salary

  • Bonus and/or commission opportunities depending on role

  • 18-day time off package, including 7 company-paid holidays

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer contribution

  • Frequently catered lunches and company events

  • In-office training and direct access to leadership

  • Clear advancement opportunities based on performance, ownership, and role readiness

  • Training on modern freight technology, internal AI-assisted workflows, and tools that improve speed, accuracy, communication, and decision-making
